Who we are

SoftwarePatternsLexicon (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an ad-free learning site for software design patterns and architectures. The site is operated by Tokenizer Inc. (Canada). For privacy questions, contact info@tokenizer.ca.

What we collect

• Information you send us - for example, your name, email address, and the contents of messages when you email info@tokenizer.ca.
• Server logs (automatic) - IP address, user-agent, pages visited, referrer, and timestamps. We use these to keep the site reliable and secure (for example, to mitigate abuse and debug issues).
• Browser storage - The site uses browser storage for features such as theme preferences. Google Analytics may use cookies for measurement.
• Analytics - Google Analytics 4 loads automatically to help us understand page usage and referrals. We do not provide an on-site analytics toggle or preference banner. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization are configured as denied.

How we use information

• To reply to your messages and support requests.
• To keep the site fast, secure, and reliable (debugging, abuse prevention, capacity planning).
• To understand overall usage in aggregate and improve site content and navigation.

What we don’t do

• No ad networks, remarketing pixels, or behavioral profiling.
• No selling of personal information.
• No third-party social widgets that track you across sites.

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

• Legitimate interests - security, essential operations, and aggregate metrics.
• Consent - only when we explicitly ask for it (for example, optional communications or features).

Retention

• Server logs: retention depends on the hosting or security service and the purpose of the log. Contact us for a question about a specific record.
• Emails you send us: kept as long as needed to manage the conversation or comply with legal obligations; we’ll delete upon request where feasible.
• Aggregate metrics: retention depends on the analytics service configuration. Contact us with a specific data request.

Your privacy choices & rights

• Access / correction / deletion: email info@tokenizer.ca and tell us what you need.
• EEA/UK: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests and lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
• California (CPRA): we don’t “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may request access or deletion via email.

Third-party services

We keep third parties to a minimum. Typical categories include:

• Hosting/CDN to serve pages quickly and mitigate abuse.
• Email to receive and send correspondence you initiate.
• Google Analytics for usage measurement. See Google’s privacy policy for its data handling.

If you follow a link to documentation, Git hosting or Mastery Exam Prep, the destination has its own data practices. Mastery Exam Prep is another Tokenizer Inc. service; its accounts and subscriptions are separate from reading this library.

International transfers

We may process data in the country where you live and/or in other countries where our trusted providers operate. When we transfer data across borders, we apply protections appropriate to the transfer and the nature of the data.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for professionals and students of legal age. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by local law. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we’ll delete it where required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as our practices or legal requirements change. Material changes will be noted at the top (“Effective date”). Your continued use of the site after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
